Who are we?

GenomeScan is a service provider for innovative DNA and RNA analyses. We provide fast, affordable, and high-quality patient diagnostics and genetic laboratory research. Our diagnostic services play a crucial role in identifying the causes of diseases and providing support for individual treatment plans. We also undertake projects for research groups and pharmaceutical and biotech clients.


We take on a diverse range of challenging projects that are analyzed using advanced Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques, including Whole Genome, Exome, and Gene-panel Sequencing, RNA- and Methyl sequencing, and various bioinformatics pipelines. Our laboratory is equipped with the latest Illumina, PacBio, Ion Torrent, and Nanopore sequencers, as well as robotic systems for automated sample processing. GenomeScan complies with international quality standards and is ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189 accredited.


We are a professional team consisting of both young and experienced individuals, centered around an informal work environment. We are constantly seeking ways to improve our services, such as developing new methods and validating new products. What will you do?

As a Senior Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing laboratory processes, conducting experiments and analyzing results, guiding our Technicians, and providing support in customer interactions when necessary. Additionally, you will be involved in project management.

Job requirements

What do you offer?

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (HBO) in Molecular Biology, HBO Biology and Medical Laboratory Research, or a similar field.
  • At least four years of work experience in a laboratory.
  • Experience in guiding laboratory staff is a plus.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of NGS techniques.
  • Experience in Diagnostics (molecular pathology) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing.
  • You demonstrate ownership and have an eye for quality and collaboration.
